Who is running the abseil?

We will be working with Lost Earth, an experienced adventure and outdoor activities company that has facilitated previous EY Foundation challenges such as our Snowdon and 3 Peaks hikes. You will be joined by a first aid qualified Rock Climbing & Abseiling Instructor, equipped with key Rock Climbing Instructor Award or Climbing Wall Instructor Award (or higher) qualifications. 

Where is the meeting point?

Participants will be met by our Lost Earth Instructor in the Millers Dale car park (address below).

What do I need?

• Comfortable and warm clothes (waterproof jacket and trousers are highly recommended)
• Suitable strong footwear such as trainers, hiking boots or approach shoes
• 2 litres of water. We do not provide water and there is no access to drinking water. 3 litres if it’s a hot day
• Snacks
• Packed lunch (if on a full day session)
• Important- please do not wear any jewellery, especially; rings, belly button rings, necklaces and earrings
• Any medication that you require 

I’m driving down, is there somewhere to park?

There is plenty of space to park at Millers Dale Car Park, the meeting point.

How will I know if coach travel has been made available from Manchester?

If participants from the Manchester office reach 15+, the Office Managing Partner has agreed to fund a return coach from the St Peter’s Square office to the Millers Dale venue. Participants from the Manchester office will be notified by Monday 11 May via email from the fundraising@eyfoundation.ey.com inbox if they will need to make alternative arrangements to travel to and from the venue.

Is there anywhere to sit in the local area?

There is a café and a pub near the Millers Dale car park meeting point. Please check websites below for updates:

• The Refreshment Room | Blueberry open until 3:30pm (1 minute walk)
• Anglers Rest | Famous Riverside Pub | Millers Dale | Peak District | Derbyshire (12 minute walk)

Due to strict numbers we sadly won't be able to allow additional spectators to watch the abseil.

How do I fundraise?

After signing up via Lost Earth, you will receive a confirmation email from them with the link to create your fundraising page. This link will also be sent in a thank you email from the fundraising@eyfoundation.ey.com inbox. For ease, the page can be found here: EY Foundation: EY Foundation Abseil 2026

EY Matched- Funding

EY employees are now able to obtain matched funding (up to £500 per person or £1000 for a team) when they fundraise for the EY Foundation! Please head to EY Matched Funding Form to apply once the event has taken place.
